lady gaga

LadyGaga was introduced to performer Lady Starlight during this time in 2007; following her performance at Lollapalooza Festival in 2007 Gaga was signed by Vince Herbert to Streamline Records which is an imprint from Interscope Records. After working as an apprentice songwriter during an internship with Famous Music Publishing, which was later acquired by Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Gaga subsequently struck a music publishing agreement with Sony/ATV. The company then asked her to write songs in support of Britney Spears as well as labelmates New Kids on the Block and Fergie. At Interscope, singer-songwriter Akon recognized her vocal abilities when she sang a reference vocal for one of his tracks in studio; Akon then convinced Interscope-Geffen-A&M Chairman and CEO Jimmy Iovine to form a joint deal by having her also sign with his own label Kon Live, making her his "franchise player. Gaga's first album, "The Fame", was released in 2008, with very little interest from the radio. Gaga went on tour throughout Europe as well as in the US to promote the album. However, it wasn't until Gaga made her debut with her hit song, "Just Dance", that mainstream attention began be paid to the music industry. Gaga was suffering from a laceration to the labrum in her right hip. She had been nursing it secretly for several months hoping to be able to continue her tour. After her performance in Toronto Gaga became unable to walk and was suffering from severe discomfort. She was taken to the hospital, and her tour was canceled.
